Scottish Parliament Election 2016

On Thursday 5 May voters in Scotland will go to the polls to elect Members of the Scottish Parliament. ELREC Diversity in Public Life undertaken number of initiatives to encourage BME community to get involved . The 2016 Scottish Parliament election is the first in which 16 and 17 year olds can vote. ELREC’s  YPAH (Young People Against Hate Crime) and  TRUE Color project is working alongside to get BME young people registered to voteinfographic-25-percent-of-single-people-are-not-registered-to-vote-scotland.

As a major national advertising campaign is launched across Scotland on 14 March 2016  to encourage voter registration ahead of the Scottish Parliament election, Chief Returning Officer, City of Edinburgh Council and Election Registration Office, Lothian is encouraging local people to visit http://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to register to vote.
